The images below represent a time-lapse of a lactose crystallization process. After 2½ hours of crystallization (D), the crystals were too concentrated for a proper image analysis. With ParticleTech Dilution application, the concentrated sample was diluted to an extent that allowed the algorithm to measure the crystals individually (E).
The graph below shows the crystal growth over time. At point D the graph increased steeply which indicated that the algorithm had failed to recognize the crystals individually and instead identified flocs of crystals. From this point dilution was required to allow the algorithm to measure the size of the crystals individually.
